EKU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SIGNS TENNESSEE GUARD FOR 2018-19

RICHMOND, Ky. – Lexi Campos, a 5-foot-6 point guard from Maryville, Tennessee signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play women’s basketball at Eastern Kentucky University.

 Last season as a junior, Campos help lead William Blount High School to an 18-8 record and averaged 10 points while shooting 46 percent from the field. She also grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists, and recorded two steals per contest.  She connected on 37 percent of her attempts from three-point range. In addition, she was named to the all-district team the past two seasons and named the Prep Extra Player of the Week in her region.

 “We are very excited to welcome Lexi to the Colonel family,” said Head Coach Chrissy Roberts. “She has the ability to score with great range and has great court awareness.  Lexi has one of the best three-point shots I have seen. She is not only is a very talented student-athlete, but a tremendous person as well. Her tough competitive nature and passion for the game will go well with our current team culture. Lexi’s best basketball is ahead of her and I know our fans will love seeing her in maroon and white.”

 Campos felt Eastern Kentucky was a perfect fit for her. “I chose EKU because I love the coaches, the team, and the campus,” said Campos. “My family can come watch me play and I can get a great education.”
