Hazard-Paintsville Set For 606 Showdown

Yesterday, Hazard defeated Louisville Collegiate 42-39 in an instant classic which was capped off by a clutch 3-pointer from Jarrett Napier. With the win, the Bulldogs will square off against Paintsville tonight at 8:00 p.m. Paintsville’s opening round victory came against Harlan 67-60.

The Bulldogs are 15-2 this season with both losses coming in the Las Vegas Prep Championship Tournament. This season, Wade Pelfrey is averaging 16 PPG and Logan Hall is averaging 15 PPG. Ironically, they each scored 16 points in yesterday’s victory over Louisville Collegiate.

Paintsville is 10-8 on the season, with an 8-0 record against the 15th Region teams. The Tigers are led in scoring by sophomore Colby Fugate who is averaging 22 PPG on 43% shooting from the floor. Senior Nick Keeton is averaging 13 PPG and 11 RPG.
