JCS Volleyball Sweeps Season Week 1

Lady Tigers go 3-0 in Week 1 and win 4th on Monday.

The Jackson City Lady Tigers opened up their season on August 19th, under the guidance of Ricky Barnett, who enters his 7th year in charge of the program.

The Lady Tigers came out strong against the Lady Commodores taking the match in straight sets (25-16, 25-8, 25-15). Rachel Griffith led the team with 13 kills and Keesha Mullins had one solo block for the team.

On August 21st, the Lady Tigers welcomed Menifee County to J.B. Goff, again sweeping the match (25-10, 25-6, 25-15). Rachel Griffith again led the team in kills with 8, with Haley Mullins leading with 8 service aces, and Cristianna Turner with 1 solo block.

The Tigers hit the road for their first away game on August 23, as they traveled to defending 13th Region All “A” Oneida Baptist Institute 3 sets to 2 (25-15, 20-25, 23-25, 25-10, 15-11). Cristiana Turner led the team with 15 kills, Haley Mullins had 4 services aces, and Rachel Griffith had 10 kills. Ending week 1 at 3-0.

The Tigers then won their 1st game of this week again winning in straight sets over Magoffin County, (25-7, 25-12, 25-12).

Tonight the Lady Tigers have a big district game as they take on the Wolfe County Lady Wolves at Campton Elementary at 6 o’clock. Wednesday Night, the Lady Tigers travel to Morgan County.
