The series opens Friday at 1 p.m. ET and continues Saturday and Sunday
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky baseball team continues its extended homestand this weekend as it hosts UNC Wilmington in a three-game series at Kentucky Proud Park. The first game is Friday afternoon with games to follow on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
The series opens on Friday with first pitch having been moved up to 1 p.m. ET due to weather concerns later in the day. The games on Saturday and Sunday both will start a 1 p.m. as originally scheduled. Stay tuned to UKAthletics.com and Kentucky baseball’s social media channels for any potential changes to the schedule throughout the weekend.
The Cats (5-3) are coming off back-to-back walk-off victories, albeit in unconventional fashion. After an 8-7, 15-inning victory on Sunday over Appalachian State the Cats used a six-run seventh inning to claim a 13-3 run-rule victory over Tennessee Tech on Tuesday.
Riding a five-game winning streak where they have scored 58 runs the Cats look to extend their school-record 127-game scoring streak, which won’t be an easy task with the Seahawks (6-3) boasting a strong pitching staff. In turn, UK will send junior right-hander Jimmy Ramsey to the mound on Friday and junior lefty Mason Hazelwood on Saturday. Sunday’s starter is listed as TBD.
