Legends – 100 Lexington Kids Receive New Tempur-Pedic Beds at Legends Pajama Party; Legends, Tempur Sealy & Sleep Outfitters Ask Fans to Participate

960_PajamaParty_SO_TS_2017(2)WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) — The Lexington Legends, Tempur Sealy and Sleep Outfitters are celebrating a season long partnership on Windstream Night, Friday, July 28 at Whitaker Bank Ballpark during the 7:05pm Legends home game against the Kannapolis Intimidators. The Legends Pajama Party will feature 100 Fayette County Public School kids and their families who are recipients of the Tempur-Pedic beds.

These 100 kids, identified through Child Guidance Specialists and Family Resource Coordinators with Fayette County Public Schools, will enjoy a night at the ballpark with their families celebrating their new Tempur-Pedic twin beds thanks to Tempur Sealy and Sleep Outfitters, as well as their new bedding thanks to the Kansas City Royals and North Broadway Auto.  Their night at the ballpark begins with charter bus transportation and continues with their participation in various pregame and on-field/in-game activities — like ceremonial first pitches, honorary manager, guest PA and fireworks grand marshals.  All 100 kids will also be outfitted in Legends gear from head to toe, enjoy ballpark fanfare, and have a meet and greet with the Legends players post-game on the field.

This remarkable donation of 100 Tempur-Pedic twin beds would not have been possible without the support of Fayette County Public Schools, who helped in identifying those students who are in the most need.  “Having a community partnership with a Lexington-based corporation like Tempur Sealy is truly a blessing” expresses Amber Cron, Child Guidance Specialist with Russell Cave Elementary. “In order for students to be successful in the classroom, their basic needs must be met.  These businesses have responded to that need, and in return, will play a role in the success of many students’ lives.  That is the true definition of a mutual partnership. With Tempur Sealy’s generous donation, along with the additional donations from Sleep Outfitters, the Kansas City Royals, North Broadway Auto and our friends at the Lexington Legends, 100 Fayette County students are able to receive a bed of their very own, new bedding and a night at the ballpark with their family they’ll not soon forget.”

The bed donation pick-up event for families takes place following the Pajama Party game on Saturday, July 29 at 9:00am.  For additional information on location, or if media are interested in attending the event, contact Sarah Bosso, Legends Vice President of Business Development.

The first 1,000 fans through the gates at Whitaker Bank Ballpark on Friday, July 28 will receive a seat cushion, courtesy of Windstream.  In addition, Legends fans attending the July 28 game are encouraged to bring a new, unopened twin sheet set as a community donation for the opportunity to watch the post-game fireworks from the outfield.
