Martin Truex Jr. Spins for the Win at Richmond

Martin Truex Jr. encountered an on track incident to “Spin for the Win”, collecting consecutive Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff victories.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 2nd Playoff race  traveled to Richmond Virginia, Saturday,  Sept. 21st for the  Federated Auto Parts 400 hosted by Richmond Raceway.

Fords will cover the starting grid as Brad Keselowski‘s No. 2 Penske Ford was awarded Pole, edging out Stuart- Haas’ Driver of the No. 4 Ford – Kevin Harvick who will start at “Shot Gun”.

Stage 1

Martin Truex. Jr. unveiling his No. 19 Joe Gibbs Toyota, proved to be the class of the field, as he piloted his Camry to a Stage 1 win.

Stage 2

Gibbs teammate: Kyle Bush – Driver of the No. 18 Toyota utilizing on efficient Pit Service allowed Kyle Bush to contend for the point.

Kyle Bush would hold off teammate Martin Truex Jr., as both would contend with lap cars in the final laps of Stage 2.

Kyle Busch’s Toyota cleared the lap cars and takes Stage 2 win, gaining valuable Playoff Stage Points.

Federated Auto Parts 400 – Final Stage

Martin Truex Jr. would patiently regain the top position to pace the field on the final stage.

An unexpected confrontation delivered by Ricky Stenhouse – Driver of the No. 17 Roush – Fenway Ford, spun out race leader Truex Jr.   Martin Truex, Jr. keep the Gibbs Toyota off the fences, regained his composure and focused to the front. 

After starting third on the restart, Martin Truex  Jr. was able to pass Teammate Denny Hamlin and then battle Teammate Kyle Busch for the win.

Joe Gibbs Racing historical day checked off 15 wins for the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Season.  JGR would also dominate the first-four Federated Auto Parts 400 finishing spots and  capture their 4th straight victory at Richmond.

Additionally, a significant day of importance for Martin Truex Jr. as he wins Back-2-Back races for the first time 505 races in his 16 yr.  Monster Energy NASCAR Cup career.
