NorthFork Lumberjacks 5/6 Open Season with Shutout

Lumberjacks defeat Jenkins in the John C. Combs Middle School Bowl.

The 5/6 grade NorthFork Lumberjacks picked up right where they left off last two seasons with a 26-0 victory over Jenkins on Saturday in the John C. Combs Memorial Middle School Bowl.

Scoring Summary:

1st quarter – No Score

2nd quarter – NFLJ – JaKoby Little 2 yard run – PAT Failed. NFLJ 6 – Jenkins 0.

3rd quarter – NFLJ – Kylan Combs 10 year run – PAT – Corey Flinchum pass from Aaron David Johnson. NFLJ 14 – Jenkins 0.

4th quarter – NFLJ – Kylan Combs 30 yard – PAT Failed. NFLJ 20 – Jenkins 0. Brayden Barnett, 25 yard run – PAT Failed. NFLJ 26 – Jenkins 0.

Though he did not get in the endzone, John Carter Hollon had two runs of over 30 yards on the day. LJ Quarterback Aaron David Johnson showed his continued improvement in connecting with Corey Flinchum on a 35 yard gainer through the air.

On the defensive side the LJ’s were stout not allowing Jenkins on the board. Waylon Abner had a fumble recovery and return for 45 yards to set up a score and Bryson Johnson and Christian Combs each recovered a fumble.

An impressive start for the 5/6 LJ’s who are next in action on next Saturday as they travel to Pond Creek to take on Belfry!!!!!!
