Wednesday night was filled with happiness, nostalgia, and fond memories for BBN. No. 19 UK defeated Tennessee Tech 104-54. The Golden Eagles are coached by UK legend John Pelphrey.

Pelphrey, one of four UK players that make up “The Unforgettables,” received a loud ovation from the crowd when he was introduced during the starting lineups.

Darren Feldhaus, Sean Woods, and Ritchie Farmer were also in attendance, which makes it the first time since having their jerseys retired into the rafters in 1992 that all four members of “The Unforgettables” were in attendance at Rupp Arena.

10 Facts to Know from Wednesday’s Game:

  • The 50-point margin of victory is the largest for Kentucky under head coach Mark Pope. The final score was UK’s largest margin of the game.
  • It marks the seventh time that UK has scored at least 100 points under Pope; all of which resulted in a win.
  • The Cats have four wins this season with at least 40-point margins, which is the quickest into a season in UK history (seven games) with four such wins.
  • UK registered 27 assists, which tied the season high.
  • The game marked just the third time since 2004-05 that UK shot at least 66% on 2-point field goals, 50% on 3-pointers, and 84% from the free-throw line. This also happened on Feb. 24, 2024 against Alabama and on Jan. 15, 2022 vs. Tennessee.
  • Kentucky connected on 15 triples in the win. UK is now 19-4 under Pope when making at least 10 3-pointers; and 3-1 this season.
  • It’s just the third time since the 2004-05 season that Kentucky had at least eight players make a 3-pointer in a game. This also occurred on Nov. 22, 2024 vs. Jackson State and on Dec. 31, 2024 vs. Brown.
  • Kentucky closed the half on a 20-3 run.
  • The 61 points scored in the second half were the most in a half for UK under Pope.
  • WIth holding the Golden Eagles to 54 points; Kentucky is now 17-0 under Pope when holding the opponent under 70 points.

The Cats are now 5-2 on the season, while Tennessee Tech is 3-4. Up next for No. 19 UK is a home game against No. 16 North Carolina on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 9:30 p.m.
