Sean Pedulla hit the game winning three pointer with only 1.7 seconds remaining in the game to give the Ole Miss Rebels the 83-80 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the opening game of Day 2 in the SEC Tournament at the Bridgestone Arena.
The first half was controlled by Ole Miss and at one point the Rebels held a 15-point lead. The Razorbacks went on a 7-0 run and cut the lead to just 8 points at the half.
In the 2nd half Arkansas was able to flip the script as they went from down eight to up eight in just 10 minutes. Ole Miss wasted no time and went on an 8-0 run of their own to tie it back up. Arkansas held a three-point lead with 29 seconds left in the game but didn’t score for the rest of the game. Ole Miss ends the game on a 6-0 run to send Arkansas home.
Arkansas was led by Jonas Aidoo with 17 points, the Razorbacks had 5 players score in double digits for the game. Ole Miss was led by Malik Dia with 19 points, 4 other Rebels scored in double digits including the hero of the day, Sean Pedulla, who finished with 10.
Arkansas will now have to wait and see if they will play in the NCAA Tournament which begins next week. After their opening round win over the Georgia Bulldogs, the latest mock NCAA Tournament Brackets had the Razorback in safely at a #9 seed.
Ole Miss moves on to face the No. 1 seed int the SEC Tournament, the Auburn Tigers on Friday at 1:00 PM in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals.
