Beechwood Toooo Much for Bobcats as Season Ends in Regional Finals

Beechwood was just too much for the Bobcats to deal with on Friday Night as the Tigers posted 49 first half points against the Bobcat Defense.

Tiger Quarterback Cameron Hergott was just phenomenal on the night. Hergott ran 10 times for 236 yards and three touchdowns, and was perfect through the air connecting on all six of his passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Avery Courtney added 74 yards on seven carries and a touchdown. Beechwood ran 24 plays in the first half, scoring on 7 of them. The Tigers rolled up 524 yards.

Breathitt threatened to trade scores with Beechwood early on with Jaylen Turner taking the first Bobcat snap 67 yards to tie the score after Beechwood scored on their first play. The shootout failed to materialize though as Beechwood stopped the Bobcats on downs inside the 10 on their second offensive drive. Breathitt would not enter the red zone again the rest of the game following that stop.

The game ended the careers of five Bobcat Seniors: Lane Weddle, William Long, Jake Strong, Darren Noble and Ethan Gibson. We at BSN wish those Seniors the best in their future endeavors.

Breathitt ends the wild 2020 season at 6-2. Beechwood improves to 8-2 and will play West Carter next Friday in the State Semi-Finals.
