The Breathitt County and Leslie County District matchup set for Hyden this Friday Night has been Postponed and may ultimately be cancelled.
Leslie County Athletic Director Mark Collett has informed BSN that Leslie County has had a spike in COVID-19 cases and due to same, all students have been placed on virtual learning for the next two weeks and all sports are suspended for two weeks.
This includes Football and the Volleyball team which was scheduled to play Thursday in the 54th District Volleyball Tournament, basically ending their season.
Given the restrictions stated by Leslie County, the only opportunity to make this game up will be the last week of the season, November 6th, where Breathitt is currently scheduled to play Paintsville.
Breathitt Coach Kyle Moore is at practice and unavailable for comment. Breathitt will be looking for a game for Friday at this late time. Breathitt has had previously District games with Knott and Morgan cancelled this year.
