Last Lap Pass Pushes Chase Briscoe to the Checkers
TALLADEGA – October 19, 2025 – Anthony Holbrook
The NASCAR Cup Series round of 8 playoffs race invaded Talladega 2.66-mile Superspeedway for the YELLAWOODS 500. The facility is located on the former Anniston Air Force Base in the small city of Lincoln.
Talladega Superspeedway nicknamed “Dega” and recognized the longest NASCAR oval track on circuit only to be compared to Daytona International Speedway, which measures 2.5-mile diameter.
Chase Briscoe lines up with Pole sitter Michael McDowell leading this year’s lottery’s Free-for -All venue. Avoiding conflict will be a major contributor for future advancement.
YELLAWOODS 500 – Race Recap:
Stage 1
Aggression will be a key factor to the dismay of Aj Almendinger aftermath. Almendinger will be tagged and bring out a final caution to set up a dash for the checkers.
Ty Gibbs will be bump drafted to the lead with the help of his manufacture teammates. Although determined opponents attempt a final charge to derail the race leader. Gibbs barricades rivals entering his rear mirror, earning his first Cup Stage Win.

International Phenom Shane van Gisbergen will learn a valuable lesson, administering Caution, entering a heavy attended Pit Lane, surrounded by aggressors.
Committed to Pit Row, Gisbergen will be bolted out of Pit Entrance, resting in a heavy soaked grass median, adjacent pit row. Nascar Officials were forced to Yellow Flag’ the incident on Lap 111. Drivers who cycled previous before Gisbergen’s Caution Flag shall benefit on the leader board.
Chase Briscoe and Kyle Larson trade paint and patience battle for the Stage honor. Larson miscalculates a bump draft allowing Chase Briscoe take control of race on the White Flag Lap.

Ownership of the covenant Talladega trophy a driver must void obstacles of interference while progressing to the front.
Embarking onto his first victory at ‘drafting racetrack’, Kyle Larson leads the field into overtime race finale. To his misfortune, lack of fuel will remove Larson from contenting for the win. Kyle Larson limps to Pit Row for recovery.
Larson’s absenteeism opens the lane for Chase Briscoe to prove his purpose. Chase Briscoe sharpshoots under Bubba Wallace capturing the lead and Checker Flag.
The 30-year-old from Mitchell, Indiana checks off the 2nd of 4 drivers from the JGR stable qualifying for the Final 4 Championship Race to be held in Phoenix, Arizona.
