Pelfrey with 17 in the First Quarter and 27 on the game to pace Hazard

Wade Pelfrey put on a show in the first quarter to put the Bulldogs on track to a convincing win in their 54th District opener for both teams. From there the Bulldogs cruised on to a 81-60 win.
1st QUARTER
Pelfrey struck early and often in the early going as he knocked down three 3-pointers and three field goals in the quarter for 17 of his game-high 27. Hazard’s defense held the Wildcats to eight points, and the score at the end of one, was 28-8.
2nd QUARTER
Hazard continued to be efficient on offense in the 2nd, and with more balanced scoring. Jarrett Napier had six, and eighth-grader Samuel Shoptaw had five, with Pelfrey, Max Johnson, and Sawyer Patrick each adding four. Christian Collins had ten of his team-high 24 in the quarter, going six of six at the line. The Bulldogs out-scored Buckhorn 27-17 to lead at the half 55-26.
3rd QUARTER
Collins had eight and Dylan Knight five in the quarter. Hazard was again balanced with six Bulldogs scoring, led by five from Andrew Ford. Headed to the fourth, the Bulldogs were up 75-43.
4th QUARTER
Hazard only scored six in the quarter to put away the win. Hayden Neace had seven for the Wildcats as they out-scored the Bulldogs 17-6.
