LEXINGTON – January 7, 2026
Kentucky trailed by as many as 14 points, but managed to claw back to get a 74-71 win over No. 25 Tennessee on Saturday night.
Otega Oweh led UK in scoring with 21 points, while going 10-of-17 from the floor. Denzel Aberdeen recorded 16 points, while Malachi Moreno tallied 10 points.
Arguably the game’s biggest play occurred with 0:33 remaining when Collin Chandler knocked down a three-pointer to give UK a 71-69 lead.
Saturday’s victory goes a long way towards assuring BBN that this UK team is really good. Early in the season when the team was struggling, Mark Pope said that this team would be successful. They’re proving that with wins like this.
The Cats are now 17-7 (8-3 SEC) on the season, while Tennessee is 16-7 (6-4 SEC.) Up next for Kentucky is a road game against No. 17 Florida on Saturday, Feb. 14, at 3:00 p.m. on ABC.
