Dover, Del. – April 28,2024 – Anthony Holbrook
The NASCAR Cup Series’ 11th point race of the season traveled a Monster Mile to the Wurth 400 hosted by Dover International Speedway.
NASCAR Cup Series Race Teams unloaded at the Monster Mile with Kyle Bush escorting the field for 400 miles of competition. NASCAR Cup Champ Martin Truex Jr. anticipated a battle to defend his preceding Dover win. The quest for clean air and tire wear were the main factors to navigate to celebrate the checkers.
Wurth 400 – Stage 1 Recap:
Carrying the Ford manufacturing flagship on his back this season, Ryan Blaney took control of the first phase of Stage 1. His predominance was challenged by William Byron’s Hendrick Chevy. Byron eventually overtook Blaney’s blue oval by Lap 79. Last years’ victor Martin Truex Jr. baited his hook and reeled in Willy B for the lead with only 7 laps left to decide Stage 1.
A spinning Brad Keselowski tangled the field as the Yellow Flag waved with 3 Laps to go.
Stage 1 completed under the Caution awarding the Stage 1 win to Martin Truex Jr.
