Former EKU linebacker Matthew Jackson has made the initial 53-man roster for the Tennessee Titans.
Jackson signed with the Titans as an undrafted free agent after completing his collegiate career with the Colonels in 2022. The Nashville, Tenn., native is the 39th Colonel to appear on an NFL roster.
An All-American as a senior at EKU, Jackson was a two-time all-conference performer and was named a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award in 2022. Jackson registered 294 total tackles, 27.5 tackles for loss, and eight sacks in his career. He led EKU in tackles for three consecutive seasons. In 2020, Jackson led the nation in fumble recoveries and ranked ninth nationally in tackles. He appeared in 50 games as a Colonel, making 27 starts and playing regularly on special teams.
Jackson was tabbed as a Stats Perform All-American and a Phil Steele/DraftScout All-American in his final season in Richmond. In his final three games at EKU, Jackson tallied 41 tackles, including a career-best 18 stops against Kennesaw State on Senior Day.
