Wildcats to play Cleveland State on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET
LEXINGTON, Ky. – December 1, 2024
The Kentucky Volleyball team earned a No. 3 seed in the 2024 NCAA Volleyball Championship on Sunday night, getting the right to host a sub-regional this weekend inside Historic Memorial Coliseum in Lexington.
The Wildcats will play host to sixth-seeded Minnesota, Western Kentucky and Cleveland State this week with first round matches taking place Thursday night and the sub-regional championship on Friday at 7 p.m. ET for the right to play in the NCAA Regional round. WKU and Minnesota will play a 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday followed at 7:30 p.m. ET by Kentucky against Cleveland State. Both matches will air live on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.
Sunday marked Kentucky’s 20th-straight NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Craig Skinner as the Wildcats earned a national seed for the seventh-straight season. Kentucky has now made 25 total trips to the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats have enjoyed a storied history in postseason play that includes 13 appearances in the NCAA Regional Semifinals and the school’s NCAA National Championship during the 2020-21 season.
Nine teams from the Southeastern Conference were selected for postseason competition. The SEC joined the ACC and the Big Ten to lead all conferences with nine teams each to be selected to compete in the championship tournament. Kentucky, the SEC champion, earned the conference’s automatic bid to the tournament, while Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M joined the 64-team field with their at-large bids to the NCAA Championship.
The UK Ticket Office is located within the Lexington Avenue entrance of Historic Memorial Coliseum. For the first round matches, the office will be open beginning at 9 a.m. and close at the end of the second match. For the Second-Round match, the ticket office will open 1 hour prior to first serve and close at the end of the second set.
All E-lots surrounding Historic Memorial Coliseum including the Joe Craft Center lot, Linden Walk Lot, Alumni Career Center Lot, Career Center Lot, East Maxwell Lot, and High Street Lot employee lots are available for event parking beginning 3 hours prior to first serve. Additionally, the South Limestone, Cornerstone Garage (PS#5) is available 2 hours prior to first serve.
