Wildcats to host three games this weekend at John Cropp Stadium
LEXINGTON, Ky. – March 3, 2020
Just in time for the Kentucky Softball home opener this weekend, the Wildcats have ascended up the polls into the No. 10 slot in both the USA Softball/ESPN.com top-25 poll and the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association/USA Today coaches’ poll.
Kentucky is 17-3 on the season, sporting the nation’s No. 1 statistical offense, leading the country in runs scored, runs per game and extra-base hits. Additionally, UK has the national home run leader, Mallory Peyton (10) national leader in RBI’s in Alex Martens (39) and the NCAA leader in triples, Kayla Kowalik (7).
The Wildcats open their home schedule by jumping right into Southeastern Conference play, as UK hosts Texas A&M for a three-game series this weekend at John Cropp Stadium. Saturday’s series opener will be at 2 p.m. ET before Sunday and Monday’s 7 p.m. ET showdowns. Monday night’s game is the SEC Network’s premier of “Mic’d Up Monday”, where UK head coach Rachel Lawson will be mic’d up for sound during the duration of the game.
Tickets to all three games are available at the UK Ticket Office, or by visiting UKathletics.com/tickets. This weekend is Youth Weekend, with several family-themed promotions spattering the three games this weekend at John Cropp Stadium.
