Wildcats slotted in top-10
LEXINGTON, Ky. – On the heels of a strong non-conference schedule, and two ranked wins inside the first weekend of Southeastern Conference play, the Kentucky Volleyball team was unveiled as the No. 8 team in the country in the NCAA’s initial release of the ratings percentage index (RPI) on Monday afternoon.
The Wildcats are 11-4 on the young season and currently sit 4-0 in SEC play. Kentucky picked up a huge win Sunday afternoon in five sets over RPI No. 21 Florida – who was ranked No. 12 in the AVCA polls. Some of Kentucky’s best wins include results over the Gators, No. 10 Missouri, No. 20 Louisville and No. 43 Florida Gulf Coast.
AVCA Rankings Released
Kentucky moved up three slots to No. 12 in the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association top 25 that was released on Monday. The No. 12 ranking is UK’s highest mark since week two of the season.
