Breathitt County battled their way to a fourth quarter comeback to defeat Prestonsburg on Friday Night. The LadyCats out-scored the Lady Blackcats 15 – 7 down the stretch to get the win and move their record to 3-2.

1st QUARTER
Breathitt jumped out to an early lead on the strength of the inside presence of Adreonna Schutz, who had three baskets in the quarter, and outside prowess of Kaylee Clemons who hit two threes in the quarter. Schutz also protected the rim with multiple blocks. Lexi Skeens had five for Prestonsburg. The horn blew with Breathitt leading 17-14.
2nd QUARTER
Prestonsburg controlled the 2nd scoring 17 points while holding Breathitt to only seven. Kylie Stephens, Celine Mullins and Faith Lazar each scored multiple baskets for the Lady Blackcats. Brenley Gross and Emalee Watts hit 3-pointers, and Riley Bush had a basket for the LadyCats’ only points. At the half, Prestonsburg led 31-25.
3rd QUARTER
The teams played to a 17-17 draw in the 3rd. Clemons knocked down two more 3-pointers and Jerrica Neace had a 3-pointer and a basket for Breathitt. Lazar had three baskets and Alvia Slone knocked down two 3-pointers. Headed to the 4th, Prestonsburg had maintained their halftime margin of six points leading 48-42.
4th QUARTER
Breathitt made their move in the 4th with Schutz leading the way. Schutz had three baskets and a free throw for seven points. Kaylea Ritchie had four and Maddie Haddix chipped in three. Prestonsburg had only one field goal in the quarter with the rest coming at the line. The hustle and defense of the LadyCats earned them the W.
