Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports is reporting that UK is working towards a deal with Oregon offensive Coordinator Will Stein on becoming the next head football coach at UK.
Stein is familiar with the Bluegrass State. Both of his parents attended UK. His dad played football for the Cats. Stein played high school football at Trinity HS in Louisville, Ky., where he won three state championships.
Despite growing up as a UK football fan, Stein played college football at Louisville. He began his coaching career at UofL. His coaching career also includes time with Texas, Lake Travis High School, UTSA, and most recently Oregon. Stein was hired as the OC and QB coach for the Ducks on Dec. 9, 2022.
