Kentucky fell short 75-74 at Auburn on Saturday night. An offensive foul called against Collin Chandler with 14.3 seconds to play led to the winning basket for Auburn.
Otega Oweh registered a career-high 29 points, which led all scorers. He is the first UK player to score at least 25 points in two consecutive games since Antonio Reeves in December of 2023.
Oweh is the first Wildcat to score at least 28 points in consecutive SEC games since Oscar Tshiebwe in January of 2022. He is the first UK player to score in double figures in 30 consecutive games since Malik Monk in the 2016-17 season.
Denzel Aberdeen tallied 15 points, while Collin Chandler scored 10. Kentucky had a turnover on 20.6% of its possessions, which led to 17 points off turnovers for Auburn.
UK held Auburn to 40% FG shooting, which included 26% from 3-point range. It marks Kentucky’s first loss this season when holding an opponent under 30% from the 3-PT line. UK is now 9-1 this season in those such games.
The CATS are now 17-10 (8-6 SEC) this season, while Auburn is 15-12 (6-8 SEC.)
