Patriots Cruise Past Bengals 34-13

On Sunday, Cincinnati Bengals fans got to see Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots in Paul Brown Stadium.

It was a close game in the first half with the Patriots taking a 13-10 lead into halftime. The Patriots jumped out to a quick start in the second half with a pair of touchdowns to take a 27-10 lead with 7:21 to play in the third quarter. From there, the Patriots cruised to a 34-13 victory.

Important Stats:
Each team finished the game with more rushing yards than passing yards. The Bengals finished with 151 passing yards compared to 164 rushing yards. The Patriots recorded 116 passing yards compared to 175 rushing yards.

Joe Mixon led all rushers in both carries (25) and rushing yards (136), while Sony Michel led the Patriots in both rushing yards (89) and carries (19).

Andy Dalton tied his career-high for interceptions thrown in a single game with four on the day. Stephon Gilmore hauled in two of those interceptions which each led to a New England touchdown. The other two interceptions were recorded by J.C. Jackson.

Cincinnati recorded two sacks; New England had none.

Overall Thoughts:
The Bengals are now (1-13) on the season. At this point, the Bengals are basically assured to have the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see what transactions the Bengals make in the off-season.

As for the Patriots, they are now (11-3) this season. To no surprise, they are once again a Super Bowl contender.

What’s Next?

The Bengals next game will be played on Dec. 22. at Miami. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and will air on CBS.
