Long Pond, PA. – June 27, 2021 – ANTHONY HOLBROOK
The NASCAR Cup Series revisits Pocono Raceway, Sunday, June 27, 2021 for the Explore the Poconos 350. Today’s NASCAR Cup race completes the scheduledDouble Hitter event hosted at the famed 2.5 mile Raceway facility.
Explore the Poconos 350 recap:
Crossing the checkers was a hand full for 2019 Cup Champion as Kyle Busch battled transmission issues throughout the day.
Busch spent much of the race battling to keep his car’s clutch from popping out of gear, only to watch it get stuck in fourth gear and damage the clutch.
Kyle Busch race team opts to stay out on a final pit strategy, protecting his track positions as contenders pit for service.
Persistent clutch issues contributed to Busch’s decision to stay out rather than risk a lengthy pit service. A definite game changer for Busch relying upon a positive fuel run upon remaining laps.
All in account, Kyle Busch checks off 30 laps led and steal the win in route to his 59th career victory in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick and Bubba Wallace rounded out the top five. Martin Truex Jr. and William Byron were the respectful stage winners.
