SVG Takes Checkers at Roval

Shane van Gisbergen’s Championship Contention Continues in Charlotte

Concord N.C. – October 5, 2025 – Anthony Holbrook

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoff’s accelerated to Charlotte, North Carolina for the final road course race of the 2025 season. The 2.32-mile Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course (Roval) stretches over 17 corners. The Bank of America Roval 400 sets the field for the Round of 8 while four Playoff Drivers are set to be eliminated after the conclusion.
Tyler Reddick will lead the field to green for 109 scheduled laps of adrenaline.

Road Course Ringer Shane Van Gisbergen capitalizes and rotates back to the lead after a late
Green-Flag Pit Service stop.
SVG will have no opposition securing Stage 1 honors at Charlotte’s Roval.

Stage 2
Shane van Gisbergen relinquishes his track position to attend Stage 2 pit attention. Many
Opportunists decline Pit Service to accelerate their chances up the leader board for Stage 2
restart activities.
AJ Almendinger accelerates to the front to control the opening Stage laps. Shan van Gisbergen
and fresh Goodyears identified progressing to the front to confront and overtake AJ.
With 2 laps of Stage completion, race leader Shane van Gisbergen dives to pitlane for a planned
car service stop. Others will additionally attend pit service in hopes to rotate back on the same
pit cycle.
Ryan Blaney decision to decline late-stage pit service sets his sights for Stage 2 candy.

Final Stage
Green flag pit stops opens the door for Kyle Larson to rotate to the front, twenty laps into the
opening of the Final Stage.
Larson and Gisbergen interchange the lead as final Green-Flag Pit-Service take prominence.
Shane van Gisbergen epic battle with Kyle Larson for the lead will cease less than 12 laps
remaining. Christopher Bell’s attempts to navigate the field also fell short of victory lane
expectations.
Denny Hamlin and playoff contender Ross Chastain track skirmish on the final lap will eliminate
Chastain’s playoff progression.
Shane van Gisbergen’s 5 Road Course wins in his rookie campaign qualifies and advances Shane
to the Round of 8 with Roval Victory.
