Kentucky was outgained by the Cards 440-147.

LOUISVILLE – November 29, 2025 – Bradley Charles

It wasn’t a great day for BBN. UK was dominated at Louisville 41-0 in the Governor’s Cup. It marks the Cats’ fifth loss of the season by at least 21 points, which includes the final two games of the season; leaving BBN with a bad taste in its mouth to conclude the season.

Kentucky’s offense struggled to move the ball, while also having a hard time with protecting quarterback Cutter Boley. UK registered -7 yards of offense in the second quarter, while Boley was sacked five times in the first half. He was sacked once in the second half as well.

While UK’s offense struggled, Louisville’s offense did not. The Cards finished the game with 440 total yards of offense, 25 first downs, and an average of 15.2 yards per completion. Louisville registered 265 yards in the first half. Kentucky finished the game with 147 total yards of offense and 10 first downs.

With back-to-back blowout losses to cap off a 5-7 season, some fans are campaigning for the program to hire a new head coach. If that does happen, it would need to happen fairly soon due to the transfer portal among other factors.

When asked after the game about returning to UK next season, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops re-confirmed a previous statement that there is a “zero” percent chance that he chooses to step away. He said “zero” on numerous occasions in his response. However, Stoops did acknowledge that he can’t control what decisions are made above him.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens next. The Cats finish the season with a record of 5-7, while Louisville is now 8-4.
