Kentucky trailed by as many as 42 points.
NASHVILLE – November 22, 2025 – Bradley Charles
It wasn’t a good day for Kentucky football. The Cats fell short 45-17 at No. 14 Vanderbilt. The Commodores scored 21 points in both the second and third quarters, while Kentucky scored 14 of its 17 points in the fourth quarter.
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia had a spectacular performance as he was 33-of-39 through the air for 484 yards, five touchdowns, and just one interception. Pavia also had 15 carries for 48 yards and one touchdown.
The Commodores tallied 604 yards of offense, which included 539 passing yards. UK had 315 total yards. Vanderbilt had 31 first downs, but Kentucky did register 19.
UK quarterback Cutter Boley was 26-of-44 for 280 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Tight end Willie Rodriguez tallied six catches for 78 yards, while WR Hardley Gilmore IV recorded six receptions for 55 yards.
Kentucky finished the game with just 31 rushing yards. UK linebacker Daveren Rayner tallied a game-leading 15 total tackles.
Simply put, it just wasn’t a good day for the Cats. Hopefully, they can rebound against Louisville next week; and become bowl-eligible with the win.
The Cats are now 5-6 (2-6 SEC) this season, while No. 14 Vandy is 9-2 (5-2 SEC.) Up next for Kentucky is the battle for the Governor’s Cup at Louisville on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 12:00 p.m.
