PIKEVILLE – September 26, 2020 – BRENDON MILLER
The Breathitt Middle School Bobcats were again on the road on Saturday for game two of the season as they traveled to Pikeville to face one of the Mountain’s premier programs in the Panthers. Simply put, the Bobcats put in a stellar performance on both sides of the ball. The Bobcat offense ran the ball effectively on the Panthers and the Defense stiffled the Panther attack, with the result being a convincing 34-6 win.

The offense lined up and played smash-mouth football. The outstanding offensive line (left tacke to right tackle) of Ty Clemons, Sawyer Hall, Carson Miller, Waylon Abner and Chris Neace, along with tight end Vincent Bowling, opened holes for the three-headed attack in the backfield of Kory Combs, Jason Tolson, and Jayden Gibson, who would all score on the day. Quarterback Aaron David Johnson put the ball in the air to hit Brayden Johnson for two touchdowns on the day.
The deep defensive front of Hall, Abner, Ethan Bowling, Hoss Stamper and Colby Bird backed by the linebacking core of Combs, Tolson, Gibson and Leland Hays left little room for the Panthers to operate and were a missed tackle of recording a shut-out. Cornerback Alex Strong picked off a Panther pass in the 4th.
