The Breathitt Middle School big boys put the hammer down on Saturday at Eastern Kentucky University to win the EKU Middle School Lineman Challenge. The challenge consisted of five events – sled push, sled pull, medicine ball throw and chase, farmer’s carry, and dummy carry, with each of the 10 schools participating having a 10 man team competing in each event. Breathitt’s team of Sawyer Hall, Chris Neace, Carson Miller, Waylon Abner, Ethan Bowling, Dawson Hays, Colby Bird, Peyton Stamper, Braylon Thomas, and Jaylan Hollon, excelled in each event and is strong from top to bottom. The Bobcats put up the fastest time in at least two of the events, and possibly more. The team prize was the EKU sledge hammer, and it will reside in Jackson!
