This one turned out to be a great one, just like anticipated.
Riverside Head Coach Ryan Hamblin Pregame:
Jackson City Head Coach Paul Green Pregame:
Riverside opened the game behind the hot shooting of Senior Juliann Neace who had four in the 1st Quarter and push the Lady Rams out to a 9-2 lead. Jackson City made a 9-0 run to finish the quarter behind four each from Riley Turner and BreAnna Tincher to lead at the first break 11-9.
Tincher was spectacular in the 2nd Quarter with all 11 of the Lady Tiger points in the Quarter. Riverside received balance scoring with Emily Neace with five, and four each for Juliann Neace and Avery Voth. At the half, Riverside led 24-22.
In the 3rd, Riley Turner and Tincher each added four, and a big three from Adeline Turner. Riverside’s Jordan Neace got on the board with six in the quarter and Haley Getson contributed three. Headed to the 4th, Riverside lead 36-33.
The 4th Quarter was both wild and wonderful with the crowd at a fever pitch and the play to match. Emily Neace had seven, with Malin Voth and Getson adding four each. The Quarter was the Bre Tincher Show down the stretch. Tincher knocked down a three pointer early in the Quarter, and then drove to the basket on nearly every position either scoring or getting to the line. Tincher had 18 down the stretch, of which she was seven of nine at the line. Additionally, after Riley Turner fouled out of the game with 3;46 to play, Tincher became the primary ball handler for the Tigers.
Of note is that Faith Moore was spectacular defensively with multiple blocked shots.
Congratulations to Riverside as their historic year came to a close. Absolutely well done!!! These young ladies have been an inspiration to so many and one of the best stories in the 14th Region all season.
