Lexington, KY – Both teams seemed to be very evenly matched throughout the hard fought game Saturday night at Commonwealth Stadium., But as time ticked off the clock and with 3 seconds left in the game, Rodrigo Blackenship kicked a 25 yard field goal as time expired to give the Bulldogs a 27-24 victory over the Wildcats.

Kentucky fell to 5-4 and 4-3 in the conference and missed an opportunity to move into 1st place all alone in the SEC East after Florida lost earlier in the day on Saturday. To say the Cats had their chances in this game is an understatement .Receiver Jeff Badet bobbled a beautifully thrown pass from Stephen Johnson on a deep post route which was certain to be a touchdown. Deandre Baker of Georgia intercepted the ball and this proved to be a turning point.

On a positive note, freshman Bennie Snell continued to impress by scoring his freshman record breaking 10th touchdown of the season. The offensive line was once again strong and continues to improve. The defense did a good job and was tested by the strong running game of the bulldogs.

Its back to work this week in preparing for next week’s road game in Knoxville versus the Volunteers. That game is scheduled for a noon kickoff. Kentucky will become bowl eligible with its next victory.
