Kentucky leads the all-time series 40-18. Tuesday’s game ended a three-game winning streak in the series for UK.

LOUISVILLE – November 11, 2025 – Bradley Charles

It wasn’t a great night for BBN as No. 9 Kentucky fell 96-88 at No. 12 Louisville. UK trailed for 37:42 minutes of the contest, while Louisville led by as many as 20 points.

UK finished the game with the advantage in numerous key statistical categories, but it was ultimately the number of assists and turnovers for each team that led to Kentucky’s loss.

The Cats had 14 assists and 14 turnovers, while Louisville had 20 assists and six turnovers. After the game, UK head coach Mark Pope said that Kentucky is going to lose a game where the assists and turnovers are like that for each team. UK had 18.7% of its possessions end in a turnover.

“I was proud of the guys for competing, but that’s not the standard here at Kentucky,” Pope said. “They did everything we didn’t do.”

Denzel Aberdeen tallied 26 points and seven rebounds, which led UK in each category. He was 10-of-20 from the floor, while adding three assists, one steal, and just one turnover.

Otega Oweh and Collin Chandler each scored 12 points to join Aberdeen as one of three UK players to score in double figures.

It was a deflating loss for BBN, but it’ll be interesting to see how this team responds from the loss.

The Cats are now 2-1 on the season, while Louisville are 3-0. Up next for UK is a home game against Eastern Illinois on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:00 p.m. on SECN+.
