Byron Wins Pole at Daytona; Hendrick Dominates Qualifying

21 year old, William Byron II, driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendricks Motorsports won this year’s Pole position for the 61th Annual Daytona 500.  Teammate Alex Bowman, driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro secured a second spot in the Pole Row. 

William Byron II, 2017 NASCAR Xfinity Champion, 2017 Sunoco Rookie of the Year and 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year, dialed in an astonishing qualifying speed of 194,305 to capture his first pole at the Superspeedway.  Along with Byron and Bowman Pole Row achievements, teammates Jimmy Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and Chase Elliott pilot of the No.9 Chevrolet Camaro round out the top 4 positions respectfully. This accomplishment Marks 5 coveted Pole Awards in a row for Hendricks Motorsports for this year’s  “America’s Greatest Race “ and solidifies Hendricks forces, to be reckoned with.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Drivers will battle 500 miles of the famed 2.5 mile tri-oval with its 31-degree banking to earn the historic Haley J. Earl Trophy-  Sunday February 17^th 2:30 pm Fox Network.  (Daytona International Speedway)
