Kevin Harvick won Sunday’s running of the Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedwayafter Denny Hamlin crashes from the lead.

NASCAR Cup Series visited the historic IndianapolisMotor Speedway for theBig Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 / Brickyard 400. Covid-19 restrictions continue to umbrella the venue.
One driver not participating in today race was Jimmie Johnson who tested positive for COVID-19. Johnson was replaced by Justin Allgaier who drove the No. 48 Hendrick Chevrolet.
The start of the race was delayed due to lightening in the area. Joey Logano was awarded Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 Pole after his random drawing selection.

Cars involved the carnage included those of Ryan Preece, Justin Allgaier, Brennan Poole, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Martin Truex Jr., Christopher Bell, Corey LaJoie, Chris Buescher and Ryan Blaney. Allgaier, Poole, Stenhouse and Truex were among those who exited the race early.
William Byron in the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, took advantage of a late restart with five laps to go to pull away from the field securing his second stage win of the NASCAR Cup Series season.
No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota – Erik Jones finished second, and Austin Dillon, in the No. 3 Richard Childress Chevrolet, was third. Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick rounded out the top-five finishers.

Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 / Brickyard 400– Stage 2 Results:
Kevin Harvick reassumed the lead from Austin Dillon on Lap 88 and withstood some competitive racing to win Stage 2 in Sunday’s Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Harvick got his second stage win of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season, finishing ahead of Chase Elliott, who led 26 laps.
Kevin Harvick picked up Stage 2 victory executing a bold maneuver passing both Austin Dillion and Denny Hamlin while sliding into the infield grass, just before Ryan Blaney brought out the 6th caution.

Harvick sailed to his second consecutive win at the track after a tire blew out on the No. 11 car of Denny Hamlin, who was in control and was running in first place in the final laps of the race. The blown tire forced Hamlin into the safety fence and his day was over.
Harvick captured the point on the final restart ahead of Matt Kenseth and Aric Almirola, who finished in second and third place, respectively.
