The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches announced the recipeints of the Player and Coach of the Year for each region on Friday morning.

JAZ JOHNSON – Wolfe County – Boys 14th Region Player of Year
Johnson has had a stellar Senior Year averaging 22.3 points per game and 4.5 rebounds. Jaz has scored 490 points this shortened season including 50 3-pointers. Johnson reached the 2,000 point plateau for his career on Wednesday Night. With the award, Jaz is a Mr. Basketball candidate!
LEXY LYNCH – Owsley County – Girls 14th Region Player of Year
Lynch has been consistently excellent throughout her career, and this season. Lexy is averating 18.1 points per game with 6.7 rebounds. Lexy has scored 282 points this season and has scored over 2,000 points with over 600 rebounds and 600 assists in her career. With the award, Lexy is a Miss Basketball candidate!
AL HOLLAND – Hazard – 14th Region Boys Coach of Year
Al Holland is the Boys Coach of the Year! Al, a perennial winner of this award, has lead the Bulldogs to a 14th Region Best record of 18-4 and is 14-1 against 14th Region Teams. The Bulldogs are defending 14th Region Champions and are looking to repeat. Al has done a masterful job this season of adapting his playing style after the graduation of his bigs last year!
TRAVIS SMITH – Owsley County – Girls 14th Region Coach of Year
Travis Smith is the Girls Coach of the year. Travis has lead the Lady Owls to a stellar season at 17 – 3. The Lady Owls are 14-1 on the season against 14th Region teams and are the 14th Region All-A Champions!!
