Coming off of the thrilling buzzer beating win over Oklahoma, Kentucky looked to keep the momentum rolling against the #5 ranked team in the nation, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Alabama has been known all year long for their ability to put up lots of points, scoring over 90 points in 18 games so far this year and most of the rest in the 80s. Not known for their defense this year but daring teams to outscore them has been a very effective strategy so far.

Kentucky came in with some questions about their offense due to the absence of Lamont Butler who re-aggravated his shoulder injury during last nights game. Coach Pope did say that they had the best possible news about Butler and he should be back sooner rather than later but would be out for the game vs Alabama.

Alabama jumped out to the quick lead and never surrendered it for the entirety of the first half, in fact the only tie was 14-14 at the with 13;45 left in the half. The game quickly turned into a rock fight as the game got physical and the fouls mounted on both sides.

Alabama goes on a mini-run to end the half and takes a 45-38 lead into the half. Alabama was led by Labaron Philon with 13 points in the half.

Kentucky goes flat in the second half shooting 36% from the field and 20% from the 3-point line. Alabama catches fire, shooting 59% and making nine 3-pointers.

Labaron Philon leads the way for the Crimson Tide with 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kentucky was led by Andrew Carr who finished the game with 18 points.

Alabama with a statement win over the CATS, take this one 99 to 70 and showing off their offensive fire power.

Alabama moves on to the Semi-Finals against the Florida Gators at 3:30 PM.
