CATS Fall in Athens

UK Athletics

The Cats fall to 0-3 in SEC play this season.

ATHENS – October 4, 2025 – Bradley Charles

The UK football team fell short 35-14 at No. 12 Georgia on Saturday. Despite many negatives from the loss, there were some positives to takeaway from the matchup.

Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley completed a career-high 25 passes off a career-high 41 attempts for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Boley’s passing yards and completions are the most by a UK freshman QB in an SEC road game since 2012.

Boley is also the first UK quarterback to throw for at least 200 yards at Georgia since Andre Woodson recorded 268 passing yards in 2007.

“I thought Cutter grew up some today,” UK head football coach Mark Stoops said. “I thought Cutter did a nice job of giving guys some opportunities. I’d like to see us come up and make some of those plays.”

Stoops said that UK’s offense is moving in the right direction, but that he is frustrated with where the offense is at currently.

“I think we’re moving in the right direction,” Stoops said. “Obviously, I’m not pleased with that; where we’re at, and not scoring enough points. But, I think we’re showing some improvement.”

Seven different players registered at least two receptions against the Bulldogs. Kendrick Law registered a career-high-tying six receptions for a career-high 64 yards, and one touchdown. He led the Cats in both receptions and receiving yards respectively.

True freshman WR Cameron Miller was a bright spot for UK. He finished the game with three catches off three targets for 41 yards. Miller only played in the fourth quarter.

UK’s defense allowed 425 total yards, but did tally six TFL’s and two interceptions. Kentucky’s defense has forced a turnover in 13 of the past 14 games.

The Cats are now 2-3 (0-3 SEC) this season, while No. 12 UGA is 4-1 (3-1 SEC.) Up next for UK is a home game against No. 9 Texas on Saturday, Oct. 18.
