Eagles Defeat Buckhorn in 14th Region All “A” Classic Matchup

Leslie County defeated the Buckhorn Wildcats 61-45 on Wednesday night in the quarterfinals of the 14th Region All “A” Classic. Coach Justin Rice’s team outscored the Wildcats by double figures in both the first and fourth quarter.

The Eagles tallied 14 points off turnovers, 14 second chance points, 14 offensive rebounds, and 38 points in the paint. Senior forward Trenton Day tallied 17 points to go along with 11 rebounds and four assists. Senior center Jason Baker had a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double. Senior guard Kobe Bowling recorded a team-high 18 points, while also accounting for nine rebounds.

For Buckhorn, 6-foot-8 junior center Christian Collins made two 3-pointers and scored 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor. Sophomore guard Hayden Neace scored 13 points and had three steals. Junior center Dylan Knight tallied nine points and six rebounds.

In the semifinals of the 14th Region All “A” Classic, Leslie County will play Knott County Central.
