The Lady Bulldogs notched their second win of the season as they survived a furious second half comeback from the Lady Commodores. The two rivals met for the first time of the season on Thursday Night with Hazard taking the floor at 1-6 while Perry was 2-3.
1st QUARTER The Lady Buldogs began to build a lead in the quarter with Libby Danner having a basket and a 3-pointer for five, and Hayley Caudill added four. Emmalee Neace knocked down two 3-pointers for all the Commodore points in the period. End of First, Hazard was on top 11-6.
2nd QUARTER Hazard opened it up on the offensive end in the Second putting up 21. Caudill had seven including a 3-pointer, Danner hit two more 3-pointers for six, Annie Harris had five and Hannah Stidham hit a 3-pointer as well. Rani McIntyre led the Lady Commodores with six, Neace had four, and Chelsey Napier three. At the half, the Lady Bulldogs were up by 13, 32-19.
3rd QUARTER Perry picked up the offense in the Third and went outside the arc connecting on three from downtown, one each by Lexie Mullins, Neace, and Alyssa White. Caudill went to work for the Lady Bulldogs with ten of her game-high 26 in the period, to keep Hazard on top headed to the Fourth, at 48-36.
4TH QUARTER Perry stormed back out-scoring Hazard 18-9 down the stretch. Neace had eight with Napier four and Kendra Lawson four. Hazard closed out the game behind Harris with four and Caudill five including going three our of four at the line.
