The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches have named their two Coaches and two players of the year in the 14th!!
ROBERT SCOTT CREECH – Boys Coach of the Year Boys Coach of the Year is Robert Scott Creech of Wolfe County. Creech is in his 18th year at the helm of the Wolves and has led the young Wolves to a 17-8 record. The Wolves are undefeated in the 55th District and will the the Tournament top seed.
GARY BROWN – Girls Coach of the Year Girls Coach of the Year is Gary Brown of Wolfe County. Brown is in his 8th season in charge of the Lady Wolves, and is Region Coach of the Year for the 2nd consecutive year!!! Brown has led the Lady Wolves to a 21-5 record for the most wins on the season in the Region to date. The Lady Wolves are undefeated in the 55th District and will be the tournament top seed.
JOE BENTON – Boys Player of the Year Player of the Year on the Boys side is Joe Benton of Estill County. Benton, a Senior who has already signed to play golf at Eastern Kentucky, leads the Engineers at an 18.6 clip a game with 8.6 boards. Joe shoots 50.9% from the field. The Engineers are currently 17-8 and will be the top seed in the 56th District Tournament.
LEXY MEYERS – Girls Player of the Year Player of the Year for the Girls is Lexy Meyers of Leslie County. Meyers, a Senior, is averaging 24. 8 points per game and 7.4 rebounds. Meyers shoots 83.1% from the line and has knocked down 88 three pointers on the season. Meyers averaged 17.3 points in 2018-19, Meyers led the Lady Eagles to the All A Regional Final each of the last two years.
