Knott Betters Powell 63-42 in Quest for Third Consecutive Regional Title

Keara Mullins pours in 29 to send Lady Patriot to Regional Title Game.

Jackson, Kentucky – March 2, 2019 – Brendon D. Miller, Bluegrass Sports Nation

Knott opened fast to stake themselves to an early lead on the strength of Sophomore Keara Mullins. Mullins had 13 in the 1st Quarter to stake the Lady Patriots to a 19-11 lead at the end of 1st and 17 total in the first half as Knott led Powell 32-22 at the half.

Mullins added 10 more in the 3rd Quarter to set the Lady Patriots firmly ahead 48-32 headed to the 4th, and Knott closed out the game 63-42 to advance to the Regional Title Game on Monday.

Knott will face Letcher Central in a rematch of the 53rd District Championship game on February 21st, in which Letcher defeated Knott 54-46. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Monday at the Fairce O. Woods Coliseum in Jackson.
