On Saturday, the Owsley County Lady Owls hosted the Hazard Lady Bulldogs. Entering the game, the Lady Owls were undefeated on the season, while Hazard was winless at 0-5. The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early 14-6 lead and the the Lady Owls could not recover, and the Lady Bulldogs picked up a 47-40 victory.
In the First Quarter:
Hazard senior center Annie Harris led all scorers with seven points, while senior guard Lexy Lynch tallied six points for Owsley County. Going into the second quarter, the Lady Bulldogs led 14-6.
In the Second Quarter:
Lynch, Carly Smith, and Kenzie Herald all scored for the Lady Owls. For Hazard, Harris and senior guard Hayley Caudill each scored four points. At halftime, Hazard held a 10 point lead, 24-14.
In the Third Quarter:
Harris tallied all eight of the Lady Bulldogs’ points, while Smith recorded five points for Owsley County. With one quarter remaining, Hazard led 32-25.
In the Fourth Quarter:
Lynch and Smith combined to score 15 points, while Caudill, Harris, Hannah Stidham, and Mallory Combs all scored for the Lady Bulldogs. The final score was 47-40 in favor of Hazard.
