Lady Wolves Turn Tables on Prestonsburg

Bailee Wright leads Wolfe with 22 points

CAMPTON – December 20, 2023 – Brendon D. Miller

Wolfe and Prestonsburg met for the second time in 11 days on Wednesday night in Campton. The two teams had faced off on December 9th in Prestonsburg with the Lady Blackcats handily defeating the Lady Wolves 73-46. Wolfe used the long range prowess of Senior Bailee Wright and excellent free throw shooting in the fourth quarter to get the 51-43 win.

1st Quarter
Wright was hot off the bat sinking two three-pointers in the quarter and totalled eight. Jasmine Banks hit a three-pointer. Audrey Prater scored six for the Lady Blackcats. After a quarter, Wolfe led 14-11.

2nd Quarter
Neither team could score in the quarter with both scoring five. Wright hit her third three-pointer and Haley Lafferty hit a long ball for Prestonsburg. At the half, Wolfe 19-16.

3rd Quarter
Wolfe grabbed control of the game in the third behind the work in the lane of Naoma Noble, who had four baskets for eight. Wright hit her fourth three and Banks made her second three and had five. Prater scored all nine of the Lady Blackcat points in the quarter. Headed to the fourth, Wolfe was on top 35-25.

4th Quarter
Prestonsburg made a run in the quarter with Allison Howard scoring all seven of her points for the game and Prater adding four for her team-high 19. Wolfe closed out the game by going nine for 10 at the line. Wright hit her fifth three-pointer and was five of six at the line to total her game high 22. Banks added four to total 14 and Noble had a basket for also get into double-figures with 11.
