Kyle Larson endures rain delay and controversial late race restarts to win at The Glen

The NASCAR Cup Series located to Watkins Glen International in which  race teams will contest the ( 11 turn / 3. 450 mile ) Road Course for the 38th running of the Annual Go Bowling at The Glen’

36th Annual Go Bowling at The Glen– Recap:

As inclement storms covered the village of Schuyler County New York minutes before the running of the 36th Annual Go Bowling at The Glen. Race Teams as well as dedicated race fans weathered a 90 minutes rain delay before the green flag was adorned. Drivers had an option to utilize rain tires as well as regular race slicks to offset track conditions.

36th Annual Go Bowling at The Glen – Stage 1

Chase Brisco captured the first Stage of the race, while another Chase (Elliott) awarded the 2022 Regular Season Championship with 119 point advantage after Stage 1 completion.

Stage #1 Top Ten: 14,8,99,38,1,22,42,34,18,16

36th Annual Go Bowling at The Glen– Stage 2

Todd Gilliland rocketed into the lead as he blew by Joey Logano early in Stage 2.   Unfortunately, Todd Gilliland’s day was shortened with a broken axel, and Logano cruised on to win Stage 2.

36th Annual Go Bowling at The Glen– Final Stage

2020 NASCAR Champ and Hendrick’s  Motorsports Chase Elliott set his sights on an eighth career road course victory and seized control of the race until a late caution gave Kyle Larson an opportunity to differ.

On the final restart with five laps to go, defending Cup champion Kyle Larson was positioned on the inside lane of Chase Elliott.

As the teammates entered Turn 1, Larson locked his front brakes, excelling Elliott up the track, taking the lead and ultimately the Checker flag.

The Victory marks the 11th straight road course win for Chevrolet bowtie brigade.
