Kyle Larson wins at Homestead-Miami in dominating fashion

HOMESTEAD – October 23, 2022 – Anthony Holbrook

The NASCAR Cup Series swing to the South Beaches of the Sunshine State Sunday, October 23, 2022 for the Dixie Vodka 400 hosted by Homestead-Miami Speedway,

The 1.5-mile track of Homestead-Miami Speedway is set to host race two of three in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR playoffs.

Dixie Vodka 400 – Stage 1 recap:

Laps: 80 (1-80 / 267)

William Byron, driver of the #24 Liberty U. Chevrolet led the field to the green flag start of the Dixie Vodka 400.

By Lap 25, Kyle Larson has a large run on the inside lane of his teammate and onward to the lead.

Kyle Larson leads the field to the pit lane but most important, William Byron wins the race to the pit exit.

Kyle Larson will clear William Byron once again capitalize bottom lane in Turn 3.

Kyle Larson drives off to a comfortable Stage 1 win at Homestead-Miami Speedway!

Kyle Larson and William Byron continue to battle for position during the opening of Stage 2.  2018 Cup Champ Martin Truex Jr joins the mix as Kyle Larson clears them into turn three.

As the flag stand brought the Final Stage to green, Kyle Larson clears Martin Truex Jr. with assistance of a bump from William Byron to return back to the lead.  Short end of stick for Martin Truex Jr. descending back in the pack.

Green Flag stops as most opt for service, counting 60 laps remaining.

Larson and the rest of the field who have yet to pitted, utilize their crews for service.

Martin Truex Jr and Ross Chastain are cycle to the lead the field.

A final Caution flag compliments of Tyler Reddick’s spin out at Turn 2 with only 23 circuits to go will reset and tighten field for a final shootout.

As teams enter pit lane, a distant sun glare interfered the vision of some drivers. One of those was Martin Truex Jr. whom checked up entering pit stall was spun out 180 degrees at pit station.

Larson wins the race to the pit exit and guilty of Martin Truex Jr bump.

Kyle Larson found himself at familiar area and leads off turn two after final caution restart. Ross Chastain seizes 2nd away from Denny Hamlin as they chase Kyle Larson taillights.
