BreAnna Tincher followed up her career-high 44 on Saturday with 42 on Monday Night, as the Lady Eagles of Leslie County visited J.B. Goff Gymnasium for a 14th Region matchup. Tincher nearly equalled her career high, but it was not nearly enough for the Lady Tigers to stay in the game with the surging Leslie County Lady Eagles. The Eagles came into the game winners of their last five and 10 of 11.
Leslie jumped out to an early lead and this one was decided by the end of the first quarter, as the Lady Eagles doubled up the Lady Tigers 28-14. From there the Lady Eagles extended their lead to 22 at the half, 28 at the end of the 3rd, and then to the final score of 92-59, to win their sixth in a row and 13th of the season.
1ST QUARTER Courtney Hoskins scored nine of her 15 in the quarter with Iris Napier, Emily Bowling and Eden Melton each adding four. Tincher scored 12 of Jackson’s 14 on four baskets and 4 of 6 at the line.
2ND QUARTER Emma Napier took over the paint for Leslie pumping in five field goals for 10 of her team-high 17, while Bowling scored four and Caroline Buckle hit a 3-pointer. Tincher was held to four in the period, as Riley Turner knocked down two 3-pointers for six and Ryleigh Noble had two baskets for four.
3RD QUARTER Tincher went back to work in the period again scoring 12 of the Lady Tiger 14, on five buckets and 2 of 2 at the line. Leslie extended their lead behind six by Hoskins, five by each Emma Napier and Melton and four by Bowling.
4TH QUARTER Tincher finished the game with four baskets down the stretch and was 6 of 7 at the line. Riley Turner was 3 of 4 at the line.
For the game, Tincher had 15 field goals and was 12 of 15 from the charity stripe.
