Joey Logano dominates Hotlanta with Last Lap Pass for the Win.

HAMPTON, Ga. – March 19, 2023 – Anthony Holbrook

The Sixth NASCAR Cup Series point’s race of the 2023 campaign was hosted by the Atlanta Motor Speedway, Sunday March.19th 2023.  The 1.54 mile refurbished Quad Oval Asphalt intermediate track located in Hampton, Georgia was reconfigured in 2021 completing one season of racing events under its new alignment, inviting 260 scheduled laps of NASCAR Cup racing. 

Joey Logano and Austin Cindric occupied the front row and led the field to green.  The Blue Oval has a reputation of running cool at Hotlanta.

Joey Logano unloaded a fast hotrod from his trailer and was displayed on the track collecting Stage 1 rewards.

Stage 2 Recap: –Ambetter Health 400

RCR Driver Kyle Busch’s pit service excels his bowtie out of pits first for Stage 2 restart.

Kyle Busch’s  post position will be contested by Brad Keselowski.  With a bump draft bolt from Ryan Blaney, Kyle Bush continues to reign in the lead. 

Ryan Blaney will overtake Kyle Bush on the inside lane, 10 laps into Stage 2.  Ryan Blaney paces the field for 5 laps until Kyle Bush is bumped back into the lead compliments of Joey Logono. This will allow Joey Logano to set up a slingshot move past Kyle Bush for the lead.

With 1 Lap remaining, Austin Cindric drives to the outside lane while Tyler Reddick dives to the inside lane sandwiching leader Joey Logano.

Austin Cindric prevails on the outside lane onward to Stage 2 win.

Final Stage Recap – 2023 Ambetter Health 400

Laps: 100 (161-260 / 260)

Retiring Cup Cham Kevin Harvick has a large run on Denny Hamlin on lap 188.  Kevin Harvick will counterattack on the inside lane and edge past Denny Hamlin to the forefront.

Joey Logano continues to hound Brad Keselowski off turn two, with only 8 deciding circuits remaining. Brad Keselowski slides up the track just enough for Joey Logano to inherit the lead.

Six Laps to go, Tyler Reddick bolts Brad Keselowski back to the lead.  In desperation Brad Keselowski blocks runs from both lanes.

Unfortunately, Brad will forfeit the lead as Joey Logano sling shots past Brad Keselowiski on the outside lane setting sights for the Checker Flag on final lap.
