Owsley Falls to Hazard; Herald Named MVP

Hazard, Ky – December 1, 2023 – Deron Mays

Hazard built a 38-26 halftime lead and pulled away in the second half to defeat Owsley County at Memorial Gym by a score of 78-50.

The Owls, stayed close to the Bulldogs in the first quarter, trailing 25-20 by the end of the period. Hazard owned the second quarter, though, winning it 13-6, and led by 12 at the half.

Hazard increased their lead in the 3rd, winning it 20-12, and cruised on to win by 28.

Sophomore Keegan Herald was named Player of the Game for Owsley County. He totaled 15 points. Junior Evan Eversole was named Player of the Game for the Bulldogs. He finished with a game high 27 points.

The Owls next game is Monday, December 4 at district rival Lee County in a big seeded game. It will be part of a double header with the Lady Owls.

As mentioned Eversole had 27 for Hazard and sophomore Seth Caudill scored 19.
