Reddick Rules at COTA

Tyler Reddick survives Triple Overtime chaos for 1st win with  23X1 Racing

AUSTIN, TX. – March 26, 2023 – Anthony Holbrook

The 6th race of the NASCAR Cup Series was hosted by Circuit of the Americas is a 3.41-mile paved, 20-turn road course in Austin, Texas Sunday March.26th 2023. 

Ross Chastain prevailed at Circuit of The Americas last year to score his first NASCAR Cup Series win.

William Byron and Tyler Reddick set the front row and will bring the field to green for 68 scheduled circuits at COTA.

Stage 1– EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix / COTA – Recap:

William Byron advances through tricky turn 1 first as the field fans out five wide in Williams rear view mirror.

 By midpoint of Stag 1, Road-Course Ringer, Tyler Reddick out- breaks Austin Cindric for the lead.

Wheel Caliper misfortunes will end any prosperous day for Bubba Wallace as he collided with Kyle Larson to bring out a Caution flag with 4 laps to decide Stage 1.

As teams opt for final Stage Pit Service, William Byron declines service in change for valuable track position.

William Byron cruses to Stage 1 honors.

Stage 2 – EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix / COTA – Recap:

Stage 1 Winner William Byron continues to pace the field after Stage 2 green -flag restart.   As race team schedule green flag pit stops, William Byron will relinquish the lead heading to pit service on Lap 24.

Tyler Reddick, whom last pitted at the end of stage 1, recycles back to the lead the pack onward to Stage 2 Victory.

Final StageEchoPark Automotive Grand Prix / COTA – Recap:

The seesaw battle between William Byron and Tyler Reddick continues on Lap 32.  Tyler Reddick forfeits the race lead on a final pit service allowing William Byron to cycles back up front to navigate the field.

William Byron’s lead is short lived as Tyler Redick fresh Goodyears take president and assist Tyler Reddick to accelerate back to the lead in less than 6 laps after service.

Denny Hamlin’s Caution Flag for debri’on Lap 41 scrambles the running order as many race teams opt for pit service.

Tyler Reddick continues to hound race leader William Byron setting him up for pass on Lap 46.

Reddick completes the pass out-braking William Byron for the lead on Turn 12.

William Byron and Tyler Reddick battle as the checkers in sight. Tyler Reddick rescues the lead with 5 laps to remaining as aggression heats up.

A total of 3 Overtime extension attempts for Green/White/Checker finish, was necessary to decide the Victor at COTA,

Front runner Tyler Reddick wards off the entire field on the inside entering into Turn 1 on Final Overtime restart. The fight for second is extensive allowing Tyler Reddick to drive away and claim the Checkers.

Tyler Reddick’s checks off his 4th NASCAR Cup Series career win and maiden win with 23XI Racing, In addition, a  chance to participate for his second consecutive NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Tournament with win at COTA.
