Riverside Christian Defeats Jackson City 62-60

Lady Rams 1-0 in 55th District play

JACKSON – December 19, 2019 – Brendon D. Miller

Riverside Christian came to the J.B. Goff Gymnasium 4-2 on the season and looking for their 1st 55th District win of the season to face the 3-3 Jackson City Lady Tigers.

Riverside was able to get the victory behind a huge 35 point effort by 8th Grader Emily Neace. Neace had 18 in the 4th quarter and 29 total in the 2nd half, as she knocked down four three pointers and went 11 of 14 from the line. Jordan Neace added 14.

Coach Ryan Hamblin, “I could not be more proud of this team. We have been waiting for a district win for over 10 years. There were tears of joy in the locker room. The hustle in these girls and willingness to play together is next to none. This is definitely my biggest win as a Riverside coach and I am so proud of this special team.”

Jackson was led by Senior Faith Moore who had 28. BreAnna Tincher had 18.

Riverside is now 5-2 on the year and 1-0 in 55th action. Jackson is 3-4 and 0-2.

Riverside is done for 2019. The will next face 55th foe Wolfe County on January 4th in Campton.

Jackson City will take on June Buchanan on December 28th in the Buckhorn Christmas Classic.
